SPEND, TAKE, COST & PAY       这四个词都有“花费”的意思。其中spend, take, cost既可以指花费时间,又可以指花费金钱;pay只可以指花费金钱。 1. spend的主语是人,常用在结构spend some time / money on sth或spend some time / money (in) doing sth.中,意思是“为(做)某事花费多少时间/金钱”。如: The policemen spent two days on the traffic accident. 警察为这起交通事故花费了两天的时间。 The man spent 200 yuan on the shirt. 那人买那件衬衣花了200元。 I spent two hours (in) finishing the housework. 我花了两个小时干完了家务活。 2. take常用在句型It takes sb. some time / money to do sth.中,意思是“某人做某事花费多少时间/金钱”。如: It took Tom only two minutes to finish reading the text. 汤姆只用了两分钟就读完了课文。 It took me 500 yuan to buy the sweater. 我花了500元买了这件毛衣。 3. cost的主语是物,常用在句型sth. cost sb. some time / money或sth. cost some money中,意思是“某物/事花费某人多少时间 / 金钱”或“某物值多少钱”。
