A Don’t be like me Dear editor, I used to be an excellent, hard-working student at high school. But after entering college, I became lazy because I didn’t know how to deal properly with so much freedom(自由). I cut classes(旷课), spent most of my time chatting on the Internet and playing cards with my roommates. I hardly did assignments(作业) by myself. Instead, I copied my classmates’ work. I felt I had a lot of time every day, but I always wondered what to do with the time. I had no sense of guilt(内疚感) because I found many students doing the same things. I had been living a comfortable life until the final exams came. I got busy preparing for it. In fact, it was the first time I was so busy in the whole term. I stayed up each night of the final week, but it turned out to be a useless effort. In the end, I couldn’t make up for the knowledge lost during the term. I failed in three courses. I was filled with frustration and regret. When I saw some of my classmates receiving scholarships(奖学金), I asked myself, tearfully, “What have I got?” I hope other students will draw a lesson from my experience. Don’t waste your time, and don’t ignore(忽视) your study for any reason. By Peter |
