so & such 1. so作副词,表示程度,意思是“如此、这么、那么”,修饰形容词或副词。常用的结构有: 1)so+adj. / adv.(+that...); 2)so+adj.+a/an+n.(可数名词单数)(+that...)。 如: He ran so fast that no one could catch up with him. 他跑得那么快,没人能追得上他。 Bob is so tall a man that he can almost touch the ceiling. 鲍勃个子很高,他几乎能够得着天花板。 2. such作形容词,意思也是“如此、这么、那么”,修饰名词。常用的结构有: 1)such+a / an+adj.+n.(可数名词单数)(+that...); 2)such+adj.+n.(不可数名词或可数名词复数)(+that...)。如: I can’t do such a foolish thing. 我不能做这么愚蠢的事情。 It’s such nice weather that I’d like to take a walk. 天气这么好,我想去散散步。 She drew such beautiful pictures! 她画了如此漂亮的画。
