From primary school to middle school, no matter which Chinese school you study in, you can always find one thing in common: the boring school bells. But it’s no longer the case in China now. In Shenyang, a school called Lianhua Primary School has changed their school bells into some nice tunes(曲调).
The idea came from the school headmaster Zhang Aijun. One day, he heard some pupils complain about the school bells. The students said they were tired of the invariable(不变的) bells and they made them very nervous. “Nowadays there are more and more nice ring tunes for mobile phones, why can’t the school bells be changed?”asked the students.
So Mr. Zhang held an activity among the pupils to encourage them to compose(创作) and record their own tunes for the school bells. The students all took an active part in the activity. Soon the first tunes were broadcast at school. With the background of music, the students could hear some words such as “Time for class. Are you ready?”
Many parents are worried because they are afraid that the tunes will make their children unable to focus on their lessons. However, the students welcome the colorful tunes. A fifth grade girl said she felt comfortable every time the music started.
